Project Overview

ECS Group delivered the substructure and enabling works for new stadium facilities at Exeter Chiefs RFC. The package included pile-cap excavations, foundation preparation, piling attendance and the regrading of an existing earth bank.

Key Scope of Works

• Excavation and preparation of 42 pile caps • Excavation and construction of trench foundations • Earthwork support and backfilling around pile caps • Casting and grouting of 53 sets of holding-down bolts • Plant, labour and engineering attendance to the piling works • Cutting down 138 reinforced concrete piles • Management and disposal of approximately 295m³ of piling arisings • Excavation and removal of approximately 364m³ to regrade the existing bank • Final site cleaning and road sweeping

Project Delivery

The works were completed over a seven-week programme and carefully sequenced around the specialist piling operations. ECS coordinated the excavation, plant attendance, pile trimming, foundation preparation and earthworks to maintain progress across the substructure package.
